We are Greater Akron’s first and most experienced wedding pet handling service! We pick up your pet from home, transport them to your wedding, engagement photo session or other event, and assist with things such as photos or walking down the isle. We’ll then return them home so you can enjoy your day!

If you’ve determined your behaved and well-socialized pet is a good fit to be involved in your wedding and checked with your venue to make sure they are pet-friendly, fill out our Event Inquiry Form to inquire on availability! We have limited availability for this service.

Who We Are

A division of
The Paw Sitter LLC

The owner of Furever Events, Leigh Peterson, founded The Paw Sitter in 2011 and has been working full time as a pet sitter and dog walker ever since. She also spent over 15 years working for a Cleveland wedding music agency and began singing in a wedding band in 2007, having performed at over 300 weddings in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. 

Leigh also worked for the Humane Society of Greater Akron and was a pet health content writer for Pet’s Best Health Insurance and her own Patch column in Stow, The Local Leash.

The Paw Sitter and Furever Events are fully liability insured and operated by professional pet care providers who are Pet CPR and Fear Free® certified.

♡ Secured pet transport between home and ceremony, reception or engagement or wedding photo session.

♡ Surprise pet reveals for engagements, elopements, announcements or grand entrance.

♡ Your dog walking down the isle as the flower dog, ring bearer, Dog of Honor, or “Best Dog.”

♡ Optional “I Do Too” dog leash rental, pictured in black, white or ivory.

Pet Handling

Care for your dog for as long as you want them at your wedding or event. We’ll make sure they are comfortable and have water and potty breaks.

Assistance

Custom-ordered assistance with photo shoots, walking down the isle, dressing, surprises, reveals, location changes and more.

Coordination

We speak wedding! With over 15 years of wedding industry experience, we’ll coordinate with your planner, photographer and venue.

Transport

Insured, secure transport your dog to and from home, making sure they are fed and comfortable. Base price includes 75 miles round-trip from Stow.

Base Price: Wedding Day $275

One dog (or two under 20 lbs each).
Up to 3 hours from pickup to drop off.
50% deposit is required to book. Balance due 30 days before event.
No refunds after 30 days prior to date.

Other events

Engagement photo sessions, save the date sessions,
rehearsal, other events start at $100 depending on travel/transport.

Add Ons

Additional dogs: $50 each
Additional handler: $100
Additional time: $50/hour
Over 75 miles from Stow: $.55/mile
